21 - Unfathomable Do

  Once more, in this chapter Lǎozĭ tries to describe the undescribable, using the poetical power of the vacuum between the lines, as well as methodo-logically the insight of intuition.
 
The Dodjīng offers in this chapter not less than a creative theory of creation from Nothingness to Beingness!

 

 The attitude of purest Inner Power follows on-ly Do.

 01-02  Here, the Dodjīng prepares a logical step-ladder, for approaching the "time before time", and tracing back D to the pure potentialitiy of Do.
 Inner Power's
attitude (mindset) toward the very emptiness is crucial for one's capacity, to act only in accordance with the Way of 道.
 "The grandest forms of active force
 From Tao come, their only source" [
Legge].

 

 In its acting as entity Do remains only in-distinct and elusive;
 Elusive
and indistinct, alas, are there images inside it;
 indistinct
and elusive, alas, there are already beings indicated inside it;
 secluded
and unfathomably, alas: in its inside, there are essences
:
 these
are utmost  genuine:
in its inside there is truthfulness.

 The content of the following poetical paraphrases reminded many translators and commentators (partly!) of Plato's doctrine of forms.

 03-04 Do's acting (not on, but) as an entity [Wagner p. 443]: figurative, symbolic, metaphorical expressions, "vague" = shapeless, "diffuse" = unfettered, free [we follow now mainly 王弼 Wng B].

 05-08 Diffuse and vague, elusive and indistinct, alas, are there images inside; vague and diffuse, indistinct and elusive, are there beings inside.
 The beings are initiated by Do's shapelessness, completed by its being unfettered.
 But the ten thousand entities are not aware why they are initiated and completed.
 The process from originally vague and shapeless images inside (the Do) toward things and beings outside in the universe, that is sort of creative imagination of creation (!): from absolute emptiness to potential (ideas of) images to beingness in spacetime.

 09-10 Secludet and distant, deep and unfatho-mable, alas, inside there are essences.
 
"Secludet"
and "distant", 王弼 Wng B calls sighs: about their depth and abstruseness: not directly to perceive, albeit the ten thousand kinds of beings are based on these essences.
 But there is hope: by determining their true nature (the Do!), it becomes possible to perceive the entities indirectly, and thus, the Way becomes indirectly discernible through them at least in some aspects of their "semen", present in the ten thousand kinds of entities! [
Wagner, p. 443].

 11-12 Because these essences are verily truthful, there is credibility (credible evidence) inside.
 When the entities have related back to the period of "secluded" and "distant", their
utmost true essence is understood, and the nature of the myriads of kinds is determined; trustworthiness becomes trustfulness.

 

 From ancient times until today, its name has been unforgotten, for one discerns all being's primordial beginning.
 How
do I know this
all being's beginning? Intuitively!

 13-15 Because the ultimate absolute truth cannot be understood by a name, therefore is its (unfor-gotten) name called... namelessname !
 In this name one discerns the primordial beginning of all entities; from ancient times to the present, every-thing occurred based on this namelessness.

 16-17 Eventually, Lǎozĭ seems to be asked, how he can know any-thing about the features in the beginning of myriads of beings, when obviously there is no direct experience about "Absolute Negativity" [Hegel] and the early periods of pure potentiality?

ll things said above, were won by just the insights of intuition.

21 - Unauslotbares Do

  In diesem Kapitel versucht Lǎozĭ abermals, das Unbeschreibbare zu beschreiben, er nutzt dabei das poetische Potentials des Vacuums zwischen den Zeilen, ebenso methodologisch die Einsicht der Intuition.
 
Das Dodjīng bietet in diesem Kapitel nicht weni-ger als eine kreative Theorie der Schpfung an: vom Nichts zum Sein!

 

 Die reinste Gesinnung Innere Kraft folgt nur dem Do.

 01-02  Hier bereitet das Dodjīng eine logische Stufenleiter vor, um sich der "Zeit vor der Zeit" zu nhern und die Wahrheit des D zurck zu verfolgen bis zur reinen Potentialitt des Do.

 Der Inneren Kraft Gesinnung (Einstellung) zur wahrhaften Leere ist ausschlaggebend fr jeder-manns Vermgen, nur in bereinstimmung mit dem Weg des zu handeln.

 ("Als Quelle nur des Dos Norm,
   Bringt Innere Kraft zu hchster Form"
; h.a.).

 

 In seiner Wirkweise als Wesen bleibt Do nur formlos und unfasslich;
 unfasslich
und formlos, ach, sind in seinem Inneren Urbilder angelegt;
 formlos
und unfasslich sind in seinem Inneren bereits Wesen angedeutet;
 verborgen
und unergrndlich sind in seinem Inneren Essenzen,
 
welche usserst ursprnglich sind: in ihrem Inneren herrscht Wahrhaftigkeit.

  Der Inhalt der nachfolgenden poetischen Umschreibungen erinnerte manch einen Kommentar (nur teils!) an Plato's Ideenlehre.

 03-04 Do's Wirken (nicht auf, aber) als eine Entitt [Wagner p. 443]: bildhafte, symbolische, metaphorische Ausdrcke, "vage" = gestaltlos, "dif-fus" = ungehindert, frei [wir folgen nun hauptschlich 王弼 Wng B].

 05-08 Diffus und vage, ausweichend und undeutlich existieren Bilder darin; vage und diffus, undeutlich und ausweichend existieren Wesen darin.
 Die Wesen werden initiiert mittels Dos Form-losigkeit, vervollstndigt mittels seiner Unbe-schrnktheit.
 Doch die zehntausend Entitten sind sich nicht bewusst, warum sie angestoen und vollendet wur-den.
 
Der Prozess von ursprnglich vagen und gestalt-losen Bildern im Innern (von Do) hin zu Dingen und Wesen auen im Universum: dies ist eine Art kreativer Vorstellung von Schpfung(!), von abso-luter Leere zu potentiellen (Ideen von) Bildern zum Sein in der Raumzeit.

 09-10 Abgeschieden und fern, tief und unergrnd-lich, ach, befinden sich im Innern Essenzen:
 
"Abgeschieden "und "fern", nennt 王弼 Wng B
Seufzer, ob ihrer Tiefe und Verworrnheit: nicht direkt wahrzunehmen, obschon die zehntaussend Arten von Wesen auf diesen Essenzen basieren. 
 Doch da gibt es Hoffnung:  durch Bestimmung ihrer wahren Natur (dem Do!), wird es mglich, die Wesenheiten indirekt wahrzunehmen, und somit wird der Weg durch sie indirekt
erkennbar zumindest in einigen Aspekten ihres "Samens", at least in some aspects of their "semen", gegenwrtig in den zehntausend Arten von Wesen! [Wagner, p. 443].

  11-12 Da diese Essenzen  in der Tat wahrhaftig sind, gibt es im Innern Glaubhaftigkeit (glaubhafte Beweiskraft.
 Wenn sich die Wesen and die Phase abgeschieden und fern zurckverwiesen haben, wird ihre uerst wahrhaftige Essenz verstanden, ud die Natur der Myriaden von Arten wird bestimmt: Vertrauens-wrdigkeit wird zu Vertrauen.

 

 Von den Urtagen an bis heute blieb sein Name unvergessen, denn man erschaut da den Urbe-ginn alles Seins.
 Woher ich
diesen Ursprung aller Dinge kenne? Intuitiv!

 13-15 Da die letztlich absolute Wahrheit nicht ber Bezeichnungen verstanden werden kann, daher also lautet ihr (unvergessener) Name ... Namenlosigkeit!

 16-17 Schlielich scheint Lǎozĭ gefragt worden zu sein, wie er denn irgendetwas wissen knne: ber die Merkmale der unzhligen Wesen zu Beginn, wenn es doch offensichtlich keine direkte Erfahrung ber "Absolute Negativitt" [Hegel] gebe sowie ber die frhen Phasen reiner Potentialitt?
 "Davon", "dafr": alles Obengesagte sei lediglich aus den Einsichten der
Intuition
gewonnen.
